The Core Energy Advisor Software Module
Every Energy Advisor System starts with a core set of software the installed on a dedicated resource such as space on an existing server or a computer that has been dedicated to the task. The core system operates 24/7, collecting, archiving and displaying collected data. The core contains the Software necessary to collected metering data in real time from your utility meter(s), process the data and store it in the SQL database that has been configured to work with the Energy Advisor System. Historical data is stored at the same resolution that your utility or market operator uses to create your bills and in addition, 1 minute data is stored to allow for a higher degree of analysis.
The core system module also includes a variety of real time displays and historical reports that allow the collected data to be analyzed down to 1 minute intervals. The real time display is a graphical representation of what is happening with your facility electrical load right now and is typically displayed against a usage or demand target that you have configured in the system. Historical reports include load profiles, load duration curves, kWh usage analysis, multiple meter load profiles, time period overlays, tabular usage reports, power factor analysis and more. Reports may also be exported from the system to Excel Spreadsheets.
The core system may also be equipped with a number of options, including an OPC data export to your Distributed Control System (DCS). A data incorporation module is also available to allow the importing of data from 3rd party data bases including Pi and Power Measurement (Schneider). Data collected from third party systems is typically imported at the same resolution it is stored in the data base. Data may include any utility information including electricity, water and natural gas usage.
