Electricity Demand Response

Demand Response programs are quickly becoming one of the most important components in electricity supply and grid management.  Customers who subscribe to a DR program are provided the opportunity to reduce load when the electrical distribution system is overloaded, strained or congested.  By reducing electrical load within the facility, the overall grid load is reduced.  This reduces stress on electical distribution equipment and can prevent brown outs and black outs. 

The end users who curtail load in their facilities are provided with financial incentives for doing so.  Participants in Demand Response programs may include Industry, commercial buildings and even agreggated residential or small commerical loads.

The challenege for the end customer is how to reduce electricity load intelligently and without cutting uncessesarily or overcompensating. LCA provides several solutions that can help end users successfully participate in DR programs. 
 

LCA Provides:
 

1) A Configurable Control Layer (CCL) that allows customers to configure how and when they want to curtail specific electricity loads in their facility.  The CCL ensures that load is taken off and brought back on in a logical manner that is consistant with management parameters and goals.

2) Real Time Demand Reduction Assurance (DRA) reports that indicate the facility load on a minute by minute and log the data so that historical reports can be generated showing DR compliance

3) Notification Alerts to key staff via email and/or text messaging to alert them of an upcoming or active Demand Response event so that staff are informed and can take any additional action necessary to monitor or communicate with each other during the DR event.
